Jan Curtis National Water and Climate Center, NRCS, Portland and Chair FGDC Spatial Climate Jan Curtis has extensive experience working with PRISM data and has affiliations with Oregon State University. He has been a former state climatologist for Wyoming, and serves as a drought advisor to NDMC. His experiences from these previous positions will be very helpful in planning the workshops, and for providing guidance to the team. Michael Hayes Director National Drought Mitigation Center, University of Nebraska Lincoln Dr. Hayes is the director of NDMC and is one of the co-authors of the National Integrated Drought Implementation Document (NIDIS, 2007) document. Apart from topical expertise, he has lot of experience in conducting workshops, some of which led to the preparation of the NIDIS document. He is very interested in providing guidance and direction to the proposed effort as it targets many of the limitations identified by the communities. Douglas R. Kluck NOAA Central Region Climate Focal Point Doug Kluck is responsible for climate data stewardship, and is very interested in streamlining drought-related data and applications, especially at the local and regional scales. He has been a member of the NIDIS team since inception, and will bring the experience and knowledge gained during this involvement. Specifically, he will guide our efforts in meeting some of the needs identified in the NIDIS 2007 document V.V. Srinivas Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India Prof. Srinivas has long been conducting streamflow studies in Indiana. Parts of the same data to be available through DRInet will enable Dr. Srinivas and other researchers to conduct regionalization studies to explore relationships between climate and hydrology, and to see if similar methods can be implemented for Indian conditions. He will advise the team on re-using and re-purposing the data, and bring his experiences from linking climatic factors and extreme hydrologic events in India. S. I. Sritharan Professor and Director of International Center for Water Resources Management, Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio Prof. Sritharan will advise the team on designing of modules for educational uses, for using the web portal for conducting drought-related studies as a part of his Center activities, and for leveraging their own data collection efforts.
